Bid Manager

Concept are delighted to be working with this market leading organisation to hire a new Bid Manager to support their growth within the public sector marketplace. The role will be home based with travel to internal and customer sites when required.

The Bid Manager will be responsible for:

  • You will develop bid budgets and be responsible for leading the budget and editing/reviewing customer proposal documents

  • You will develop a team of subject matter specialists, including technology, business process, commercial and legal professionals and provide sales process advice & guidance when required.

  • Direct the bid team, providing structure and order to the bid so that deliverables produced are of the highest possible quality, working independently with limited supervision.

  • Facilitate the definition of the solution, utilising subject matter/sector professionals and drawing on own experience and knowledge to meet the client's requirement. Prepare a Cost of Sale model and supervise expenditure against budget so that internal costs are minimised and resources are passionate about the right opportunities.

  • Ensure compliance with the bid process so that bids and associated risks are properly underwritten and Business Commitment Reviews run smoothly.

The ideal Bid Manager will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Bid Management or similar experience, working across all stages of the entire bid process
  • Has worked on a variety of previous bids across service and technology solutions
  • Has undertaken Bid Management roles for opportunities in excess of £500K
  • Highly proficient in use of MS Office tools
  • Experienced user of project planning software e.g. MS Project
  • Demonstrate a sales orientation with an understanding of bid management best practice

It would be great if you had:

  • Member of Bid Management professional body e.g. Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP);
  • Experience of Shipley bid management best practice;
  • Knowledge of the Public Sector market;
  • Experience in mentoring junior staff
